Job Opportunity at Workforce Management and Consultancy, Restaurant Operation Manager

Job title: Restaurant Operation Manager 
Location: Dar-es-Salaam

Key Responsibilities 

  • To manage the restaurant by providing leadership, overall supervision and controls. 
  • To be able to do staff planning and budgeting and organizing staff trainings. 
  • To assist the Directors in selection of staff. 
  • To ensure the deadlines of all tasks and reports are met. 
  • To have a good knowledge of the operations in the restaurant, kitchen, bar, stores and administration. 
  • To have a good understanding and knowledge of the of the food and beverage items in the menu. 
  • To be able to submit daily and monthly operations reports to the directors. 
  • To establish and maintain good customer relationship. 
  • To assign responsibilities to line subordinates and check their performance. 
  • To ensure there is controls in requisition, storage and use of all operating equipment and suppliers.
  • To be able to understand municipality by laws concerning food and beverage operation. 
  • To be able to update staff on information about the operations. 
  • To ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant. 
  • To project a positive and motivated attitude among employees. 
  •  To be able to conduct yearly staff performance appraisals. 
  • To ensure inventories on products and equipment are done and reports generated. 
  • To have up to date knowledge of the local competitors, products, service and pricing. 
  • To identify market needs for the restaurant and be able to prepare a marketing plan. 
  • To be able to implement promotions and events in the restaurant. 
  • To ensure the restaurant budget is achieved. 
  • To keep up to date with the latest international trends and development relating to restaurants.

Academic qualifications and Work experience 

  • Minimum education qualification- Diploma in Hotel Management or relevant Hospitality training.
  • Experience in similar capacity in either hotel or restaurant environment


  • Fluent in English and Swahili, foreign language is added advantage but not a must. 
  • Computer literate and working with Micros or POS system is an added advantage. 
  • Should be a competent team leader. 
  • Should be a good trainer and organizer. 
  • Should be socially confident and well groomed.
