Job Purpose
The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring operational risks across the bank. This role ensures the effective implementation of risk management tools, promotes a strong risk culture, and enhances risk awareness through training and continuous engagement with stakeholders.Top jobs
Duties
- Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across the bank, including risks related to people, processes, systems, and external factors, and consolidate findings regularly.
- Review and update operational risk management policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and manage key operational risk tools, including Risk and Control Self-
- Assessment (RCSA), Incident/Loss Data Management (LDM), and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), ensuring effective risk monitoring and reporting.
- Conduct independent control tests and assurance activities to validate RCSAs and KRIs, effectively challenging existing internal controls where necessary.
- Compile, analyze, and present comprehensive internal risk reports to senior management and Risk Committees, offering insights and recommendations for continuous risk management improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional Certification in Banking, Risk Management, or Accounting is an added advantage.
- At least 4 years of experience in banking, preferably with exposure to both branch operations and support functions, or in a related field such as business process analysis, audit, or risk management.
